Another Happy Statiflex Filter Bank Customer from Lincoln Electric!
I am excited to announce the launch of our newly created monthly Environmental Customer Spotlight series! This series will focus on our customers that needed fume extraction solutions in various application settings and the successful solutions that the Environmental team provided.
Our first spotlight customer is
George Schalk from Local No. 22 (U.A. Plumbers & Steamfitters) of Western New York, who purchased a Statiflex Filter Bank with a 44-booth configuration. George was in a peculiar situation as his school had outgrown their previous location and were in need of a larger space, which meant George had to begin searching for vendors to meet the specifications he deemed necessary. George told me, “We ran out of parking spaces for our evening classes, so it was time to begin looking at alternative locations which provided room for expansion.” That is exactly what George did by planning and designing this beautiful new facility in West Seneca, NY.

What challenges were you facing and how was the Lincoln Electric Environmental team able to solve those?
Noise issues with the previous extraction unit with custom ductwork was the biggest hurdle George wanted to overcome. The unit was so loud they couldn’t hear to talk next to it when it was running. Pricing was also a key component in George's decision and the Statiflex Filter Bank was priced right for the total solution. The Environmental engineering and project team was able to come up with a solution to work around height constraints without compromising performance. The combination of drastic noise reduction, an affordably priced unit and great design work were all criteria that gave the edge to the Lincoln team.
How has your Configured-to-Application (CTA) solution from Lincoln helped improve your dayto- day operation?
“The noise reduction has been substantial and we can now easily talk right at the weld stations without disruption. One of our biggest deciding factors was a unit that not only performed efficiently, but one that did so quietly and this unit does exactly that.”
What would you say to other organizations that are facing the same challenges you were?
“Lincoln’s entire team delivered on the expectations they laid out at the onset of the project. Lincoln even agreed to hold off on production as the grand opening of the facility faced delays. Knowing that Lincoln has great relationships with their existing customer base in various different settings was very beneficial to us as we were able to go and tour a facility similar to ours so that we could see their setup and what the end product would ultimately look like.”
In addition, George also stated that the
Education Portal and accessibility to knowledgeable resources is one thing that truly left an impact and separates Lincoln from the rest of the pack.
