December 2018 Environmental Spotlight

"Lincoln's People Have Made The Difference"

Our December spotlight customer is Dana Shanower from Local No. 94 (U.A. Plumbers and Pipefitters) of Canton, Ohio, who purchased a Statiflex Filter Bank with a 48-booth configuration. Dana was moving his school from an outdated facility that had been outgrown into a much more state-of-the-art space. The move required that Dana find a fume extraction system that would handle his unique layout as well as a plasma table to be positioned off the main welding area. He knew he needed a single filtration unit that would accommodate his entire school while working around height constraints.

“Lincoln’s people have made the difference,” says Dana. “Steve Hill is such an asset and product expert that it made my job easy. Steve helped us save money by quoting expansion projects up-front as part of the initial booth and extraction system quote. And Roberto Flores has the ‘IT’ factor . He knows every inch of the system and brings a ‘can-do’ attitude every day. I can’t say enough about these guys.”

What challenges were you facing and how was the Lincoln Electric Environmental team able to solve those issues?

“The sales team was sent down to talk with me and what I was thinking for our new weld shop and they took it from there. They supplied me complete duct drawings, booth placement and the proposed location for the main filtration system outside. After exchanging e-mails, phone calls and texts, they designed what my brain was actually thinking for the weld shop. As the project got under way, I would talk to our sales engineer about possible issues and he would put my mind at ease in a timely manner. The benefits I see are a completely smokeless, state-of-the-art, quiet learning environment!”

How has your Configured-to-Application (CTA) solution from Lincoln helped improve your day-to-day operation?

“The ease of operation, cleanliness and reliability have given me peace of mind and allowed me to focus on other areas.”

Dana’s extraction system was finished exactly when he needed it, and the project came in at budget.
